Pep Guardiola insists he doesn’t want to dwell too much on the upcoming international break and is hoping his players will return fit after beating Fulham 3-2 at home.
“When you have a player like Adama (Traore) on the counter-attack, there’s no stopping him. He’s so strong and powerful. We started very well, created two chances in two minutes and then suddenly they hit the counter-attack with Adama, Iwobi and all the other players they have, they’re always dangerous. We had good moments and good moments and in some moments they were better than us. Ederson made some incredible saves.”
“After the Champions League it is already difficult to face a strong team like this. Fulham are an unbelievable team, Marco (Silva) has been there for many years and they bought a lot of talented and experienced players (in the summer). We knew that and knew it would be difficult but we got the win.”
On Mateo Kovacic: “He’s not a top scorer, but he probably saw how Rodri scored in that position and modeled it and did it. He scored two great goals.”
On the international break: “It’s better not to think about it. Every year is similar, so it’s better not to think about it. I don’t know how many players will be available, how many players will come back with injuries. I pray that the UFABET players come back fit from the national team and we will take it game by game.”
